Timmins, ON – As International Women’s Day 2026 “Give to Gain” campaign comes to a close, 100 Women Who Care Timmins are proud to announce a $4,000 donation to Timmins and Area Women in Crisis, supporting the organization’s ongoing work to provide safety, advocacy, and essential services to women and families experiencing violence.

Members of 100 Women Who Care gathered on Monday, March 9th, with Kinz and Klomp and leaders of the Timmins and Area Women in Crisis to present the donation – an event scheduled the day after International Women’s Day to honour and uplift women in the community.

“Supporting women in crisis is not just an act of giving; it’s an act of solidarity,” said Kim Hurteau, President of 100 Women Who Care Timmins Chapter. “During our quarterly meeting, a new member nominated Timmins and Area Women in Crisis (TAWC), sharing her story with such courage and vulnerability. Members were moved to tears, as she recalled her painful experience and growth in healing, thanks to the profound work of the programming she received from Timmins and Area Women in Crisis.

“When put to a vote, our members were highly impacted and chose Timmins and Area Women in Crisis because their work changes lives, as our member experienced firsthand,” said Kim.

“We are deeply honoured and grateful to 100 Women Who Care Timmins,” said Julie Nobert-Demarchi, Executive Director of Timmins and Area Women in Crisis. “When survivors support survivors and community shows up for community, real change happens. This generosity helps ensure women and families in our region have access to safe, trauma-informed support when they need it most. We are thankful to all members, organizers, and sponsors who make this collective giving possible.”

Nobert-Demarchi explained “the funds will help us continue providing safe, trauma-informed support and services to women and families in our community as they navigate safety, healing, and rebuilding their lives. This generosity will make a real and meaningful difference.”
